As research professionals, we acknowledge we have so much to be grateful for during these difficult times. We’re part of a strong and supportive community. We’re already digitally acclimated. And we’ve been able to adapt, better than most, to the slew of unanticipated home and workplace restrictions.

That said, one of the research areas that’s been hardest hit by the recent stay-at-home orders and social distancing guidelines is focus group research and other types of in-home methodologies. The good news is, much of this type of work can be done online. The bad news is, shifting from in-person to online is not as straightforward as just changing the platform.
